Following a successful trial event in August 2020, the Oversley Trail 10K returns for its first official race on June 20th 2021.

A run around the beautiful trails, leafy lanes, and farm tracks of South Warwickshire, the race starts and finishes in Oversley Green, following a course past Oversley Castle and through the village of Exhall.

This is a fantastic chance to get racing again as we move out of COVID lockdown restrictions, and at just three weeks before the Leamington Spa Half Marathon, a perfect opportunity to build up your training for other races later in the season.

The Oversley Trail 10k is a low key and socially distanced event, limited to just 400 runners.

Your health and safety is our priority, stay Covid Safe

As Raceways continues to plan and organise events during this difficult time, we want to assure you that we are taking every precaution to organise a safe and socially distanced event. We are working with the local Council and our suppliers to deliver an event you can be confident in.

With this in mind we are sad to say that at this time we will not be able to deliver the Kids Fun Run. If however restrictions change, and we feel we can deliver the fun run in a safe way we will reintroduce this part of the event at a later date, so please keep an eye on our social media and website for details.

Due to the recent pandemic there will be several changes to the race day in order to keep the event as COVID secure as possible for all athletes, event crew, and members of the public.

Here are the important things to remember:

Start Process – staggered over 20 minutes, from 9am

  • Race numbers will be issued according to your expected finish time and split into waves. We will announce the start times for each wave nearer the race date
  • Each wave of runners will be called forward from a holding area to the start funnel, to create a socially distance queue to the start line
  • Runners will be released in race number order, fastest first, at staggered intervals. This will drastically increase how spread out you are on the course

Event HQ & Car Park – open 7.30am, only accessible for registered Oversley Trail 10K runners

  • Registration will be open from 7.30am for race number collection – please allow for this process to take longer than usual, to ensure social distancing
  • We cannot provide baggage drop and storage, to avoid any congregation of runners and prevent surface transmission of COVID-19
  • Please arrive changed and ready to race
  • Please travel to the race alone if possible, and do not bring anyone who is not registered for the race. We are unable to accommodate spectators at this years race
  • There will be hand sanitiser at regsitration, and the toilets. Please respect a 2 metre social distance from other runners at all times
  • The Event HQ will close at 11am

The Route

  • The race takes place on trials and tracks around Oversley Green, with a short section on open roads. Please use the left hand side when running on the road. We would recommend running in Trail Shoes if you have them
  • Please respect a 2 metre social distance from other runners at all times, and give plenty of space if you need to overtake
  • There is a water station at the halfway point, but please bring water with you to reduce the need to use these stations

We ask that all runners take a Lateral Flow Test in the week before the race, and on the morning of the race itself. If you test positive for COVID-19 on either test, you must enter self isolation and you MUST NOT attend the race.

You can order an LFT from the Government website at https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests

Your full race day information pack will be sent out to you closer to the race date. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please contact us at office@raceways.org.uk

We can’t wait to see you in June!
